ABOUT
EKUA DAY
Previously known as Matanga – a community healing festival created by the late Executive Director Ekua Walcott to promote and enhance health and wellness within the African diasporic community. Matanga was focused on creating a safe space to cultivate rejuvenation of the mind, body and soul personally and collectively. With the passing of Ekua Walcott in 2017 and her profound passion for Matanga Day, the event was renamed as ‘Ekua Day’ to allow her legacy to live on through the people who loved her and the community she impacted immensely. Ekua Day is now a special family based celebration at HTCO, inclusive of fun summer activities for children, good food, music and most all vibes!
